As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Sierra Space's Orbital Mission and Services (OMS) division focuses on the design, build, and operations of small satellites in support of commercial services and national security space and offers two work locations: Louisville, Colorado and Centennial, Colorado.
Sierra Space is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer - MBSE Architect to join our expanding OMS team.You will join a team of Systems Engineers as they use MBSE tools and practices to develop requirements, system architectures, concepts of operation and facilitate successful development milestones on a novel spacecraft system. The successful candidate should possess an enthusiasm for space protection and systems development and should demonstrate the ability to understand and champion a systems viewpoint throughout the developme
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience architecting within MBSE Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, MATLAB Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBS Experience or certification in INCOSE standards Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measur s Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM) Demonstrated experience in developing design review deliverables, ensuring the appropriate level of detail is provided to meet project specifications and stakeholder requirements. Ability to develop and understand space domain design reference missions, mission vignettes and system CONOPS. Experience with System Architectures that enable variable levels of automation. Thorough understanding of inter- and intra-subsystem interfaces, both logical and physical.
