THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Investment Specialist with a focus on Greater China based in Hong Kong to join our Fixed Income Product Management group, which works closely with our fixed income investment teams, our client group and business colleagues around the firm (both regionally and globally). The Investment Specialist will be a member of a product team responsible for growing our Fixed Income franchise across Greater China. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant investment experience, preferably in fixed income portfolio management, product management or investment consulting. The candidate will also have excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for fixed income investing. The role will be based in Hong Kong and will require travel within the region and occasionally to other locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a business strategy that builds a sustainable book of business and differentiates the firm/investor’s products/solutions in the marketplace through the creation of business plans, marketing strategies, and original investment content.

  • Evaluate and triage new business opportunities based on a deep knowledge of client risk/return objectives, portfolio manager capabilities, and business constraints.

  • Contribute to the development of new investment strategies and client solutions, conduct market and competitor analysis, evaluate product overlap and capacity trends, and prepare white papers and presentation materials that serve to differentiate our portfolios.

  • Lead meetings with clients, prospects, and consultants to communicate our investment philosophy, strategy, positioning, and performance across a variety of fixed income investment styles and approaches.

  • Analyse investment strategies, both quantitative and qualitative, for competitive positioning and client consulting.

  • Act as a fiduciary to ensure portfolio integrity by providing oversight of portfolio positioning, performance, and risk exposures.

  • Facilitate and influence business decisions, such as those arising from operational complexity, fee negotiations, capacity limitations, investment guidelines, and the like.

  • Actively participate in the development of talent by providing feedback and interviewing candidates for new roles across departments in the Asia region.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of industry experience, preferably in a relevant capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience with direct client engagement.

  • Experience working in Asia viewed positively.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, attention to detail.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Creative problem-solving skills, solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Strong business judgment, curiosity, comfort with ambiguity.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team across regions.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, grace under pressure, flexibility, ability to get things done.

  • MBA and/or CFA are preferred.

  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferable
