POSITION TITLE: General Cargo Crane Operator (Ship's Gear-Hook Work)

POSITION SUMMARY:Join the team at Associated Terminals, a global leader in cargo handling known for its safety, efficiency, and expert team. We are currently seeking seasoned Ship's Gear Operators/Crane Operators to enhance our dedicated team of stevedores. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining assigned cranes and ships gear, ensuring the safe and efficient transloading of cargoes and commodities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the safe operation of the crane, as well as the safety of the gang on the ships and in the warehouse Report unsafe operations and behavior to the assigned production manager Responsible for the safe transloading of cargoes and commodities Insures the maintenance of the crane, including performing pre-job inspections and periodic maintenance Insures the assignment of crew personnel to perform preventative maintenance Observes load hookup and determines load safety Report ALL incidents through company's reporting protocol Support company safety initiatives Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies Perform other duties as required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least 2 years of friction and hydraulic crane experience in a maritime/ industrial or warehousing environment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school or equivalent (preferred)

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Experience in a similar position in an industrial setting (preferred) Working Experience in the stevedoring/ warehousing industry (preferred) Ability to safely operate assigned equipment Thorough knowledge of rig operation and maintenance programs Thorough knowledge of personnel safety programs At least 40 hours of seat time in all assigned equipment Proficiency in equipment and terminal operations Be physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely Demonstrated safe work practices, history, and leadership ability Advocate of team concept Commitment to customer service Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Must comply with all operational directives and company policies

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. Will work at different elevations, noise levels will be moderate-high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools. Rotational shift work required. Twelve or more hours per day spent in work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical nature of the work will vary from day to day based on operational needs; however the job will require the incumbent to be able to perform: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Incumbent will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat, eyewear, safety vests, gloves, masks/ respirators (when necessary) and steel-toe boots. Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/ or in excess of 50 lbs. frequently, and/ or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSURES: TWIC Card Initial completion of crane operator certification training in house; including crane operator physical (re-certification every 36 months) Must pass pre-employment drug tests as well as random drug screening/background check. In House-Water survival/Fundamentals of Rigging/Fall Protection/Basic Safety/First Aid/CPR Training.
