St Josephs Indian School Grocery Store and Food Service Assistant (Part-time) in Chamberlain, South Dakota
Summary of Position
The Food Service Assistant (Part-Time) is responsible for both grocery store and cafeteria activities as directed by the Food Service Coordinator. This is a nonexempt position.
Accountability
Reports to the Food Service Coordinator.

Responsibilities
- Works with other team members to receive, stock, and rotate food products.
- Uses the point of sale application for ringing out grocery store customer orders.
- Assists with order fulfillment for grocery store deliveries and food box preparations.
- Assists customers during regular business hours.
- Assists and works with other team members preparing and serving cafeteria meals.
- Assists in preparing items for the salad bar, prep work for meals, and other associated cafeteria related jobs as directed by the cafeteria manager.
- Maintains a high degree of food handling and sanitation standards.
- Performs such tasks as dish washing, preparing and cleaning the cafeteria before and after meals, as well as maintaining general cleanliness.
- Performs other responsibilities as required by position supervisor.
Qualifications
? High School Diploma/GED? Valid drivers license ? Basic math skills ? Basis computer skills ? Experience in food service is helpful
Physical Demands
? Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods. ? Driving is required. ? May carry, move, or lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs. ? May regularly bend, stoop, crouches, and climbs stairs. ? Some tasks may require standing for prolonged periods.
Expectations of Hours Worked
Approximately 25 hours/wk. This is a part time position that follows the Chamberlain school district calendar. Regular hours are from 9AM to 2:30PM on scheduled school days.
