Title:
GEOINT Operations Support Systems Engineer
KBR is looking for personnel with experience providing GEOINT mission knowledge and expertise to support the on-orbit initialization, payload calibration, operations and maintenance of NRO’s new proliferated spacecraft architecture. This also includes applying the mission knowledge and expertise to support activities such as developing CONOPS with contractors and mission ground stations as well as capturing user feedback improve operations, and reporting operational status to leadership.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Provides subject matter expertise and technical support to facilitate the development of GEOINT capabilities cooperatively with development contractors and mission partners.
Perform engineering and analysis to ensure programs successfully deliver mission capabilities during operations from tasking, execution, processing and dissemination.
Interface directly with development Prime Contractors in the role of oversight, monitoring of operations and maintenance activities and ensuring alignment with Government requirements and objectives
Manage projects and conduct assessment including operational availability/capacity, maintenance, Space vehicle checkout, and initial operational capability.
Advise operational decisions to include improvement and discrepancy report priorities.
Conduct Strategic planning for both mission architecture needs (technical trade studies, definition of future architecture planning, software service recommendations etc.) and programmatic (Program Budget Guidance, cost estimation, generation of acquisition schedules)
Develop, update and execute Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) across users and O&M contractors for a new proliferated system to be operated and tasked like no other system currently in operations.
Develop and track enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface metrics for things like system availability, timeliness, duty cycle, tasking allocation, and collection
Minimum Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Business Management with appropriate technical experience
10+ years’ experience with IC, DoD, and/or commercial space architectures, systems and operations
Demonstrated experience in spacecraft on-orbit initialization and operations
Demonstrated experience in tasking and processing methodology of RADAR
Experience in RADAR tasking, command & control, collection, processing, and dissemination
Experience in Space Systems Ground Software, Space Development Programs or Mission Operations programs
Experience working at or with MOD ADFs, GED and NGA
Experience with Modeling and Sim and reporting metrics
