Summary :
We are looking for an EEG Tech to join our prestigious epilepsy team at UNC! As a Level IV Epilepsy Center, we care for a wide variety of patients in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Studies may be performed in an outpatient lab, at patient bedside, or in the operating room. Our mission is to improve heath and well-being of North Carolinians and others we serve. Responsibilities :
Performs diagnostic patient testing electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP).
Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and maintains equipment.
Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.
Takes patient histories. Provides instruction to patients and families regarding test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointment
Interact with patients. Explain the studies to the patients and their family to prepare them for the test, interview them and take their histories, and get them ready for their follow-up appointments.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain equipment in procedure rooms, hospital patient rooms, clinic rooms, or operating rooms for studies.
Perform diagnostic testing including electroencephalogram (EEG).
Read and summarize neurodiagnostic data for providers

Education Requirements:
● Completion of an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics program (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registered in one of the following specialty areas:
•EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
•EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
•Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
•Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV
•Polysomnography (RPSGT)
•Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If completion of an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics: No prior experience required.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Twenty four (24) months experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.
● If a High School diploma or GED and 12 months experience in Neurodiagnostics: Will be considered as a Trainee.

Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
