Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Charleston, South Carolina

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Manufacturing industry, based in Charleston, South Carolina. This role will involve the management and processing of vendor purchase orders and invoices, maintenance of vendor account information, and supporting various financial activities.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and assign expenses to relevant accounts and cost centers based on invoice descriptions and historical data.

• Process vendor payments efficiently, keeping track of discount opportunities and preparing checks for scheduled payments.

• Set up and maintain accurate vendor account information in the system, adhering to strict verification procedures.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of vendor accounts and related transactions to ensure accuracy.

• Protect the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

• Provide support for monthly and annual closing activities as required.

• Assist in the internal and external audit process during annual and interim audits.

• Contribute to the development of best practices and standardization of processes.

• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

• Utilize SAP for processing all vendor purchase orders and invoices.

With this role, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your skills in account coding, accounting software systems, and financial reconciliation, among others. You will also be a key contributor to the efficient functioning of our accounts payable processes. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding and Coding Invoices

• Experience with Accounting Software Systems, particularly SAP

• Expertise in Accounting Functions, especially Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to Enter Vendor Invoices and manage High-Volume Invoicing

• Experience in Invoice reconciliation and Payable Invoices

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations, Daily Reconciliation, Financial Reconciliation, and Credit Card Reconciliation

• Prior experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry is preferred

• A keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
