Ensures the proactive and preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of water delivery, and animal life support systems. Assists Animal Welfare Specialists with routine habitat safety checks and cleaning as needed. Assists leadership in development and management of an Animal Facilities Specialists division. Assumes leadership role in coordination, preparing for and carrying out projects to improve animal facilities in both behind the scenes and public facing areas. Serves as the lead for matters related to Coral Worlds animal facilities and life support systems and works with Exhibits Curator and Marine Mammal Managers under the direction of the Assistant General Curator Participates in all relevant contractors negotiations and agreements. Drafts annual proactive maintenance plan and budget for maintenance and improvements related to animal facility spaces and life support systems. Ensures that Coral World is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and represents the park to all Federal and Territorial agencies in regards to animal life support systems. Performs hands on duties to complete in house projects and preventative maintenance as required. This may include preventative maintenance, repair, replacement or installation of equipment and components relating to both behind the scenes and public facing animal areas.
