Actalent Bim Coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Title: BIM CoordinatorJob Description

Lead coordination efforts for the company and direct Drafter/Spoolers as needed. Attend coordination meetings and ensure complete understanding of job specifications, schedule, and construction sequencing. Responsibilities include labeling, dimensioning, and printing of drawings, placing Trimble points, and assisting in creating, updating, and maintaining libraries of equipment and fittings for the CADD system. Maintain and file all sketches and drawings by name-number location and provide detailed shop drawings as required. Learn all necessary information regarding mechanical installations applicable to CADD systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination efforts for the company and direct Drafter/Spoolers as needed.

  • Attend coordination meetings.

  • Ensure complete understanding of job specifications, schedule, and construction sequencing.

  • Label, dimension, and print drawings; place Trimble points.

  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining libraries of equipment and fittings for the CADD system.

  • Maintain and file all sketches and drawings by name-number location.

  • Provide detailed shop drawings as required for duct and piping for the complete project, with time frames provided by the project manager or department manager.

  • Provide piping assembly drawings for Pipe Fab Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, and/or Prefabrication Shops.

  • Learn necessary information regarding mechanical installations applicable to CADD systems.

  • Make final sketches of proposed drawings, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, and the relation of parts to the whole structure or project.

  • Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

  • Make any necessary or desired adjustments or changes.

  • Draw charts for representation of statistical data.

  • Draw finished designs from sketches.

  • Use computer-assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software – Revit, AutoCAD MEP.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD MEP.

  • Experience with design, drafting, and construction documents.

  • Ability to act as a key technical and implementation source for BIM for assigned projects.

  • Effective relationship management with design, project, and client teams.

  • Guidance provision to estimators and project managers on added costs to meet project BIM implementation goals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00
