​​​Specific to the Capital Markets technology platform, lead technology teams for multiple lines of business and/or crosscutting function responsible for technology solutions that meet business needs and satisfy risk and operational requirements of the Tech organization. Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges by leveraging emerging technologies and automation to improve business efficiencies, enhance speed-to-market of solution delivery, and support business and enterprise transformation and optimization. Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews. ​​

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • ​​Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules, and budgets, including Agile methodologies.

  • ​Oversee the planning, design, engineering, testing and deployment of application projects in conjunction with a variety of resources, which may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.

  • ​Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and focuses on long-term operations planning and performance, and broader business objectives and priorities.

  • ​Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering and administration and a basic understanding of other IT disciplines in guiding and coaching team members. ​

  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.

  • ​Impact results by supporting the funding of projects, products, services, and/or technologies.

  • ​Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing the necessary mitigations where warranted. Partner effectively with second line of defense, Auditor, and regulators to ensure Risk is identified and mitigated appropriately.

  • ​May play lead role or technical consultant role in large or complex projects or initiatives.

  • ​Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Equivalent education and experience, which will include 20+ years in Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), 10+ plus years executing a Technology Strategy for a CIB Line of Business, 15+ plus years in Executive level Stakeholder Management, 15+ plus years leading large scale, cross-functional and Global Teams, and 15+ plus years managing and integrating vendor platforms.

  • Expert level knowledge in at least Three Functional Areas as listed below:

  • Markets Expertise - Demonstrate deep knowledge of markets structure, exchanges, connectivity, CIB trading, and investment strategies.

  • Financial Products - In-depth understanding of CIB Products, the end-to-end lifecycle of financial products, including origination, primary/secondary issuance, trading, settlement, and servicing. As well, first-hand experience with related workflows, industry standard market data, trading/affirmation, settlement platforms and, protocols (e.g., FIX)

  • Quantitative Modeling and Valuation - Solid understanding of concepts behind quantitative models used in valuation of complex Financial Products. Firsthand experience in building frameworks and or, integrating quantitative models to build a robust, scalable CIB Technology platform.

  • Risk Management - Comprehensive knowledge about distinct types of risk (market, counterparty, liquidity etc.) with CIB Products. Deep understanding of technical, functional (e.g., VaR, Stress, SCP), and regulatory complexities (e.g., CCAR, FRB, BASEL) in building an intraday & end of day risk management platform to support multiple asset classes within CIB. Expertise in working with risk management, regulatory counterparts, and their needs.

  • Regulatory Compliance - Expertise in building and managing a cross-asset regulatory platform for Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) business lines. Demonstrated knowledge with regulatory jurisdictions, bodies (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA), regulations (e.g., Dodd Frank, EMIR), reporting requirements (e.g., Transaction, EOD Valuation etc.), industry standard reference data sources (e.g., ANNA DSB) and repositories (e.g., GTR). Collaborate with legal, audit/compliance teams to ensure adherence.

  • Electronic Trading - Expertise in building electronic trading platforms for efficient, automated trading and execution. In depth understanding of market connectivity, algorithmic trading, high-frequency, low latency trading, order routing, OMS/EMS platforms, market marking systems, related audit/compliance requirements & regulations. Optimize execution strategies while maintaining compliance.

  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators

  • Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions

  • Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services

  • Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems

  • Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives

  • Experience managing projects with enterprise-wide implications from conception through implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ​​Understanding of multiple approaches to Software Engineering

  • ​Full understanding of Agile methodology

  • ​Experience leading teams in an Agile organization, particularly those practicing DevSecOps, and/or are in transition from traditional waterfall approach to Agile approach ​

The annual base salary for this position is $250 - $300K
