Job Description:

At Regions, the Systems Administrator provides expertise on the design, planning, implementation operation and security of systems. This role services as a technical expert for complex systems and identifies solutions to system/service interruption issues.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise to the design, planning, implementation, operation, and security of systems

  • Serve as technical expert for complex systems and identifies solutions to system/service interruption issues

  • Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization

  • Oversees the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software

  • Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system

  • Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements

  • Provides recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting

  • Manages compliance in Security and Regulatory standards

  • Some scripting (i.e. PowerShell and Bash)

  • Leads improvements to processes and design enhancements

  • Coordinates, facilitates, and verifies projects across multiple environments

  • Provides training to junior administrators to improve job skills and work efficiency

  • Typically has full ownership of a process

  • Acts as a procedural expert

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a technical training program with eight (8) years of related experience

  • Or, a High School Diploma or GED with twelve (12) years of related experience

  • Design end-to-end virtual desktop solutions by analyzing business requirements, assessing existing infrastructure, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures.

  • Design and integrate Citrix products, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, and Citrix Cloud, with Azure virtual desktop services to provide a comprehensive and cohesive virtual desktop solution.

  • Configure and manage Azure virtual machines, session hosts, virtual networks, and storage to create and maintain Azure virtual desktop environments. Ensure proper image management, user profile management, and application delivery mechanisms.

  • Design and implement identity and access management strategies, including integration with Azure Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls for virtual desktop environments.

  • Design and configure network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure, including network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers, to ensure secure and efficient data transfer.

  • Optimize virtual desktop environments for performance, scalability, and user experience. Monitor and tune resource allocation, load balancing, and network bandwidth to ensure optimal performance.

  • Implement security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements, to protect virtual desktop environments and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.

  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss. Create redundancy mechanisms, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.

  • Set up monitoring tools and processes to proactively monitor the virtual desktop infrastructure. Identify and troubleshoot performance issues, system errors, and network connectivity problems to maintain a stable and reliable environment.

  • Create design documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure teams, security teams, and application owners, to ensure successful deployment and ongoing management of virtual desktop solutions.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
