United Rentals Credit Coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina

As a Credit Coordinator at United Rentals, you will coordinate all aspects of collection for delinquent accounts referred to third-party agents.

Additional responsibilities include the following:
Identify delinquent accounts for collection efforts and initiates collection activity after completing final collection efforts on behalf of the Company
Refer accounts to third-party collection agencies and attorneys as appropriate
Ensure all legal and collection data is complete and accurate; In preparation of legal proceedings, reviews information gathered for third party agencies
Work with credit management team to negotiate customer settlements, and reviews settlement releases with customers through third party
Oversee placement, status and recovery of accounts placed to collection agencies or attorneys, as necessary prepare accounts for bad debt write off
Prepare all required reports containing potential bad debt, bankruptcy notices, fees paid and collected amounts from agencies and attorneys
Receive and reconcile third-party invoices for approval and payment
Other duties assigned as needed
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in related field preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit and collection required, preferably in the heavy equipment rental or construction industry
knowledge of lien laws, surety bonds, and UCC filings preferred
Strong customer service skills with knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction and meeting quality standards
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
