Job Description:

The Head of US Global Security & Investigations oversees investigations of internal and/or external incidents, victimization of customers, determines causes and identifies control weaknesses, minimizing risk and reducing losses. The Head of US Global Security & Investigations manages the Physical Security and Crime Prevention operations and interacts with senior executives at the Retail, Corporate, and Business Group level to coordinate, recommends and oversees the protection of organizational assets and human resources across all TD enterprise-wide locations, (including remote offices). In this leadership role, the incumbent manages and leads cross-functional teams to develop strategies and plans, conduct timely and thorough investigations, create and file regulatory reports, and coordinate/lead investigations with other control and corporate function stakeholders. Provides leadership and advice, reports orally and in written reports, and works with law enforcement and regulators.

The responsibilities of the GSI function is 24 hours a day/7 days a week (24/7). Robberies, frauds, law enforcement/regulatory inquiries, inclement weather, executive/employee travel and geo-political events could occur at any time. This role oversees/manages strategies to address these risks to ensure a successful program.

•Responsibility for developing and implementing strategy and programs for the physical protection of people (employees, customers and visitors) in the TD workplace, facilities owned or occupied by TD, and TD assets.

•Responsible for developing and implementing strategy and programs for internal and external investigations of fraud and physical security

•Oversee the management of a multi-site team of highly-skilled physical security and investigative professionals.

•Develop and maintain effective liaison relationships at senior levels with national/federal, regional/provincial/state and local/municipal law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies in all states where TD operates.

•Develop and maintain effective relationships at senior levels with line of business executives and regulators.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable equivalent work experience

  • MBA, or applicable professional certifications preferred (CPP, CFE, CFCI, PSP, etc)

  • Investigative and Physical Security experience

  • 15+ years, as leader of an Investigations and/or Physical Security function in a major financial institution with multiple lines of business

  • Relevant experience in complex retail/consumer financial services/payment services organizations with multiple financial products, or a regulatory agency relating to bank fraud and related laws/regulations

  • In-depth knowledge of the financial industry, related laws or regulations, and good understanding of multiple regulatory environments and jurisdictions

  • Experience in cultural change and education in large organizations with diverse populations

  • Record of accomplishment for attracting, developing and retaining strong team members and building strong teams

  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize best-in-class Investigation and Physical Security programs in a large, matrixed, multi-business financial institution

  • Demonstrate proficiency in highly complex problem solving, with sound judgment in making decisions

  • Record of accomplishment of establishing a proactive and constructive dialogue and working partnership with internal constituencies in the business and in peer corporate functions, and with external legal and governmental parties

  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal, collaborative, organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of Access
