Wells Fargo Lead Systems Architect - Database Platforms in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

As a Database Platform Architect, you will contribute to the Enterprise Database Strategy leveraging your expertise in mainstream and innovative relational and non-relational database platforms. You will assess, architect, and design database platforms for scale, high-performance and security. You will develop and maintain architecture specifications for Data Hosting as well as detailed specifications for underpinning database platforms. You will make an impact by bringing your expertise in automating the provisioning and management of Database Platforms combined with your enthusiasm for emerging database technologies and best practices to the team. You will partner with product managers and engineering delivery leads in Program Increment (PI) planning and roadmap development as you build the architecture runway for the roadmap items with architectural significance.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives

  • Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy

  • Identify medium to high architectural impact projects

  • Conduct complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions

  • Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams

  • Make decisions in the development and maintenance of architectures

  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas

  • Ensure database platforms adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing database platform architecture for relational and non-relational systems with focus on Scalability, Performance, Resiliency, Security, and Cost-efficiency, High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) objectives

  • 3+ years of experience in automating the provisioning and management of both relational and non-relational database technologies with Database as a Service (DBaaS)

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Cloud Database platform: Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB Atlas, or Google Cloud SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with end-to-end database migration strategies within on-prem, on-prem to public cloud with expertise in planning, assessing, and executing migrations with minimal downtime and data integrity

  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages: PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience working in an Agile, product-oriented structure

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • Strong comprehension within the compute, network, and storage technology domains

Pay Range:

  • Minnesota - Minneapolis Pay Range: $111,100 - $197,500 Annually
