Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and structural integrity of equipment within the plant. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing welding tasks, and collaborating with the maintenance team to implement process improvements.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot structural issues within the plant and design appropriate repairs.
Partner with the maintenance team to map out process improvements and maintain structural integrity.
Perform MIG, TIG, vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding.
Adhere to AWS Code standards.
Read and interpret blueprints to repair broken metal components.
Fabricate new parts to repair and assemble machines back to working order.
Conduct preventive maintenance.
Work with pneumatics and schematic repairs.
Essential Skills
Troubleshooting mechanical issues within the plant.
Blueprint reading.
Fabrication and welding skills (MIG, TIG, vertical, horizontal, overhead).
Preventive maintenance.
Understanding of pneumatics and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Any secondary schooling is helpful but not required.
Experience in a similar role or a degree in mechatronics is advantageous.

Work Environment
This role is based in a steel mill that processes recycled material into building materials for the construction industry. The facility consists of large hanger-style buildings that are temperate in winter and hot in summer due to the foundry. The equipment size prevents climate control.

The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $76960.00
