    • Bachelor's degree in any of the following areas: English Language; English Literature; Writing (Rhetoric or Creative Writing); History; Law; Education; Social Work.
    • AND/OR advanced degree in English Language, or English Literature, or Writing (Rhetoric or Creative Writing)
  • Work authorization (Required)
  • Teaching: 5-years experience (Alternative experience accepted upon discussion)
  • Multilingual Proficiency apart from English: Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Hindi (3 Required)
  • Evidences knowledge of Islamic Traditions, Quran Recitation, Islamic Education and Jurisprudence (Courses undertaken in Islamic Education, Jurisprudence or Shariah strongly preferred.)
  • Familiar with the traditions of the Islamic faith.

[**[Position Summary [Intellicor International Academy/Muslim Education Center seeks a [multilingual teacher to serve as a middle-school and high-school English Language Arts teacher who will work to implement the North Carolina curriculum and who will include Islamic principles and examples from Muslim cultures in their classroom instruction. The instruction shall primarily be in English, but switching languages to help immigrant students is to be expected, such as Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Hindi.

Instructs students the ELA standards for North Carolina for Middle-School and High School (7th Grade to 12th Grade).

Teaches primarily in English, but uses other languages if and when needed (apart from English), such as Arabic, Urdu, Persian or Hindi as required.

Aids in the selection and requisition of textbooks and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.

Prepares lesson plans and instructional materials and, in doing so, includes examples and materials from both the USA and the Middle-East and/or South Asian cultures to foster inclusivity for the students.

Evaluates and monitors student's academic performance on Powerschool accordance with NC Standards.

Establishes and maintains classroom management standards that are required to achieve successful learning experiences. Should imbibe Islamic Traditions/Education to encourage morality and upright behavior.

Conducts a creative-writing club for the students to improve their English and self-expression if required by the Principal.

Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.

Works under supervision; typically reports to subject's department head, grades level coordinator, and/or the principal.
