Principal Financial Group Sales Internship – Principal Asset Management US Client Group, Institutional and Consultant Relations (Summer 2025) in Charlotte, North Carolina
What You'll Do

With this spirit in mind, we are looking for a sales intern to partner with our North America Sales and Relationship Management team to get an in-depth look at what it takes to be successful in an asset management and distribution ecosystem.
Your experience will include:
Being part of a dynamic global sales team proving deeper understanding of financial markets, investment products and Principal’s selling systems
Assist in the preparation and engagement of new and existing investment clients
Support a wide variety of projects across multiple business lines within Principal Asset Management
Work with internal partners on communications, report generation, collection and dissemination of prospect related data
Develop expertise with contemporary tools such as Salesforce, Morningstar, Xalt, etc supporting sales teams engaging relationship management and investment partners.
Actively contributing to a fun and creative team culture while being exposed to myriad of networking opportunities
Who You Are
Currently pursuing or completed undergraduate or graduate level degree.
Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or involvement within the community
Interest in a career in sales and asset management
Preference will be given to students who have experience with sales either through a previous internship, involvement, or work experience.
Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Travel may be required.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$18 - $20 / hour
Time Off Program
Paid company holidays and any time off required in your state.
