University of Virginia Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions in Charlottesville, Virginia

The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and team-oriented individual to join the school as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions in a collaborative and creative Student Services Office. The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions actively participates in the advising, outreach and recruitment of prospective Commerce students and supports the management of the Commerce Cohort Program. The incumbent plans and executes targeted recruitment events and supports students from historically marginalized populations through a variety of programs, one-on-one, and small-group advising. The Assistant Director also supports the execution of the undergraduate admissions process for the B.S. in Commerce and the School’s portfolio of minors and other undergraduate program opportunities.

The McIntire Office of Undergraduate Admission is responsible for all facets of undergraduate recruitment and admission. This includes the planning and execution of information sessions and presentations; recruiting and advising prospective Commerce students throughout the academic year; facilitating the internal and external B.S. in Commerce admissions processes; internal admissions for McIntire sponsored minor degree programs; and engaging with a broad constituency through multiple communication methods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and least three years of experience in student services functions or a total of eight years of experience in lieu of degree. Experience gained while a student may be considered.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Demonstrated skill in working effectively with diverse populations of undergraduate students.

  • Experience and proven effectiveness in presenting to diverse groups of constituents of various sizes

  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects, prioritize a variety of responsibilities and work efficiently within and across teams.

  • Proficient in MS Office suite programs including Office 365 and have experience with or the ability to learn the Slate admissions system and other platforms as needed.

Anticipated hiring range $50,000 - $65,000
