Join Our Team as a Community Engagement Project Manager

Skeo is an employee-focused consulting firm providing innovative, collaborative and multidisciplinary solutions to complex and pressing issues in environmental stewardship, social equity and economic opportunity.

Skeo is seeking one or more motivated, energetic and outgoing person(s) to join our team on a full-time basis as a project manager overseeing community engagement-based work at hazardous waste sites across the U.S.

Some Responsibilities in This Role Include:

Public Speaking and Quality Communication Across Clients and Communities: Successful applicants will work directly with clients in a proactive fashion. Applicants should be comfortable with and interested in working directly with community members, both in person and virtually. This may include coordinating and providing support for a wide range of in-person events such as meetings, workshops and training, as well as overseeing and developing community engagement documents such as fact sheets, brochures, reports and posters.

Project Management: Candidates should show they are detail-oriented, highly responsive, and capable of managing multiple projects with varying deadlines and overseeing others with work. Applicants should be able to multitask, work effectively on multiple teams and for multiple senior managers, maintain a positive attitude and have excellent communication skills.

Writing and Research: Ideal candidates for this mid-level position will have strong writing and research skills. This role will require communication in writing to clients and community members, which may vary in approach and voice depending on the audience. This candidate will need to be able to conduct research to inform and create fact sheets, reports, brochures and to handle general community inquiries.

Remote or in-office work: You can work remotely or join us at our Charlottesville, Virginia office. Preference will be given to those candidates who live in the Charlottesville area; however, the right candidate may work remotely if located within two hours of a major airport. Candidates should generally be available during our operating hours of 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Standard Time. However, hours may vary depending on time zone and client needs. Skeo can only consider remote applicants from the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WY. Applicants from other states or outside of the U.S. cannot be considered for remote employment with Skeo at this time.

Reduced work schedule options: While most positions are 40 hours, Skeo employees have the option to request to reduce their standard hours down to as little as 30 hours per week. This allows our employees to enjoy flexibility and increased balance harmony within their work and personal lives.
