University of Virginia Pelvic Health Physical Therapist in Charlottesville, Virginia

UVA Health is seeking a pelvic health focused physical therapist for the UVA Physical Therapy department.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions related to pelvic health, including but not limited to pelvic pain, incontinence, and postpartum recovery. The Pelvic Health Physical Therapist will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans, provide hands-on therapy, and educate patients on self-management techniques to improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with pelvic health concerns.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings.

  • Utilize manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and biofeedback to address pelvic health issues.

  • Educate patients on pelvic floor muscle training, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other physical therapists, to provide holistic patient care.

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.

  • Provide support and education to patients and their families about pelvic health conditions and treatment options.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in pelvic health physical therapy.

  • Adhere to all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards of practice.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy

Experience: 6 months relevant experience

Licensure: Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Additional continuing education in area of pelvic health, CAPP certification preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
