University of Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care/Critical Care Float Pool - Weekend Program in Charlottesville, Virginia

The Weekend Program offers a weekend only shift schedule with enhanced compensation.

The Weekend Program is a commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in 12 month period beginning with first shift worked. Lodging allowance is available for eligible employees travelling greater than 75 miles one way.

An experienced and highly skilled clinician. Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to patient care service delivery across the continuum of care. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a highly developed skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Exhibits leadership characteristics consistently and autonomously. Is learning to negotiate the health care system to maximize the delivery of quality care and to minimize cost of patient care services.

Recognizes situations in which personal bias may influence action. Plans, coordinates and prioritizes patient care activities considering patients' unique needs in collaboration with inter-professional team including consult recommendations. Practices according to skill level and work complexity, with accuracy and confidence. Demonstrates flexibility in time management to manage changing priorities. Coaches and supports others to plan, coordinate and prioritize. Delegates appropriately (insert link to ANA language for delegation) and respectfully, coaching others to optimize delegation. Maintains safety and continuity of care by role modeling and coaching use of methods such as documentation, hand-off tools/processes, etc.

Position Compensation Range: $43.89 - $58.00 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.

Experience: Two year of relevant experience.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
