We are seeking a dedicated primary MRI Nurse to join our innovative team, where you'll play a crucial role in enhancing inpatient experiences and ensuring seamless MRI procedures. Key Responsibilities:

Expertise in Medication Management: Administer glucagon and utilize Pyxis for efficient medication delivery for anxiety and pain control and Moderate Sedation

Patient Screening & Safety: Conduct thorough MRI screenings and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Advanced Monitoring: Utilize state-of-the-art patient monitoring systems to provide real-time MRI safe assessments.

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the RADHU, inpatient care team, MRI techs, interpreting radiologists, cardiologists, and the anesthesia/device team to ensure smooth and successful exams.

Leadership & Support: Guide and mentor support staff, including CMAs, RCAs, and EMTs, fostering a collaborative environment.

Reporting Structure: Report to RADHU Nurse Manager.

Job Assignment: MRI 80%, RADHU 20%

Qualifications:

Strong leadership and organizational skills to enhance team performance.

Commitment to providing top-notch patient care and safety.

ACLS required

Critical care experience, ED, PACU or sedation experience preferred

Shifts:

Weekdays: 3 shifts (12 hours each), 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM

Rotating on-call for weeknights, weekends and holidays.

As an MRI Nurse, your mission will be to enhance inpatient progression by assisting with assessments, screenings, device monitoring and medication plans. You will be at the forefront of patient care, ensuring that every individual can complete their MRI exams comfortably and successfully on the first attempt.

Position Compensation Range: $39.90 - $53.00 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree preferred.

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

This position qualifies for the UVA Medical Center Clinical Ladder.The salary range reflected in this job posting is for an RN Clinician 2. Additional compensation is available if you are hired into a higher level on the Clinical Ladder. Those hired as either a Clinician 3 or Clinician 4 must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and possess a specialty certification from a national certifying organization and meet applicable Career Ladder Behaviors. Placement on the clinical ladder will be discussed during the recruitment process. Current team members already working as RN Clinician 3 or 4 who wish to transfer to another department will have their level on the clinical ladder reviewed by the hiring manager and the PNSO if applicable.
