Job Title: 1st Shift Order Picker
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 1st shift Order Picker to join our production team. The primary role involves picking ingredients needed for production, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Pick the majority of ingredients needed for production according to the production schedule or as communicated by the production lead/supervisor.
Execute system transactions to assign ingredients picked to Production Orders, enabling full traceability of raw materials and/or packaging as well as accurate inventory levels in the system.
Organize and continuously reconcile ingredients and packaging inventory for accurate inventories on computer system by product code.
Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
Ensure all micro ingredients are well-labeled and organized, and storage locations are accurate in the system making them easy to locate.
Interpret special instructions on pick lists and follow all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements while handling raw materials.
Pull production orders from the system and verify all the correct ingredients are selected from inventory to fill the order.
Complete packaging label duties according to the production schedule or as communicated by the production lead/supervisor.
Pull product orders from computer system. Load master label and packaging into labeling system. Check all information on the product order to make sure the right label is selected for print.
Select label from the system for print. Ensure all labels have accurate product code, lot number, expiration date, and any other required information. Follow-up on missing or inaccurate label information with Production, Quality Control, or R&D.
Follow labeling instructions to product codes where necessary. Instructions may include label locations, sticker applications, etc.
Label all packaging materials for production, which includes items such as boxes, bags, etc.
Work as a team and communicate professionally. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Keep all containers covered and as dust-free as possible.
Perform duties within quality control guidelines. Follow safety rules and report observed safety issues to supervisor.
Coordinate with packaging vendors as requested by Supply Chain.
Maintain food safety culture in regards to food defense, quality, and cGMPs for production and warehousing of products.

Forklift operation (stand-up and sit-down forklifts)
General labor skills
Picking and packing experience
Material handling skills
RF scanner operation
Inventory management
Ability to lift 50+ lbs throughout the day
Basic mathematical skills and proofreading skills
Ability to relate math and reading information to product label information
Computer and accurate data entry skills
Ability to comprehend and follow printed and computer-screen instructions, and directions from supervisors or leads
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6 months to a year of forklift or material handling experience
Forklift certification
Ability to cross-train on all other production positions and meet skill requirements

Our facility is clean and spacious, though you may be exposed to noise, heat, changes in temperature and humidity, and airborne dust particles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00
