The Senior Manager, Project Management for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the continuous improvement, global standardization and embedding of our project and portfolio delivery framework with the Global Ops organization and building strong project management capabilities across the teams, while managing one or more of our project portfolios.

This position is part of the Global Operations PMO & Strategy Team and will be designated on-site at our Chaska, Minnesota location with the ability to work remotely. At Global Ops Strategy and PMO, our vision is to bring best in class project and portfolio management methodology and skills to support the achievement of our business goals.

You will be a part of the Global Operations PMO and Strategy team reporting to the Director of Project Management, Global Operations PMO and Strategy, responsible for the management of our project portfolio(s) and project management of major operations projects/programs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • To impart Project and Portfolio Management standards and knowledge to other PMO team members, project teams and key leadership stakeholders within Global Ops organization through leadership, guidance and motivation.

  • Support the PMO to maintain and develop standards in Project Governance and delivery.

  • Manage the portfolio framework within which projects are created, managed and completed.

  • Manage methodologies, standards and dependencies according to which projects are designed, assess day-to-day workings and monitor progress of predetermined KPIs.

  • Ensure effective and robust project delivery across the in-flight projects, supporting the organization to deliver our strategic ambitions, within a challenging environment.

  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs through the adoption of Danaher Business Systems tools (Visual Project Management, Daily Management etc.) and Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology.

  • Collaborate with, influence and hold accountable cross-functional project teams to ensure projects/programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Demonstrate intuition for business to support how solutions will address project goals.

  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement on standard methodologies and tools for PM talent development.

  • Participate in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Portfolio Management Tools & processes.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference for m inimum of 14 years / or 12 Years (With Masters) experience in an operations environment (manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or logistics and distribution)

  • Prefer minimum of 8 years Project Management experience leading large, sophisticated projects.

  • Project management trained/qualified (e.g PMP certification or equivalent).

  • Minimum of 2 years Project Portfolio Management experience required.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement Portfolio Management Tools.

  • Global business knowledge and influence – demonstrated understanding of different cultures and approaches and demonstrated ability to lead, follow, work and influence at all levels and in all functions of the organization. Proven ability to mentor and facilitate PMs and project teams with varying levels of PM competence.

  • Onsite to Chaska and up to 25% travel based on business needs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Change Management Certification desired (Prosci/ADKAR or Other)

  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience, certified Kaizen leaders in DBS and demonstrated capability in Problem Solving.

  • Proficiency in Power BI/Smartsheet, MIRO, excel and Project & Portfolio Management software.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
