Photo-Sonics Inc Final Test Technician - 490 in Chatsworth, California

Description:

The Final Test Technician will test complex mechanical systems, electro-mechanical precision parts; various assemblies, sub-assemblies. Set up and run tests for research and development and qualification testing of Tracking Mounts, HUD cameras, and other technical equipment.

The Final Test Technician reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and procedures to determine the method of testing and verifies parts dimensions and functions using precision measuring instruments to ensure specifications are met.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials for testing
  • Connect electrical wiring and harnesses.
  • Measure parts using precision measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes, waveform monitors, and multi-meters.
  • Inspect and test completed unit to ensure that unit meets specifications, tolerances and customer order requirements.
  • Set up, maintain, troubleshoot custom-designed and commercially manufactured test equipment.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Assist in calibration recall activities.
  • Assist at offsite test labs, onsite customer testing facilities, and at government test ranges.
  • Work with various departments such as engineering, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly to determine test failure resolution.
  • Perform testing in front of the customer and government inspectors when required
  • Complete and maintain legible test data.
  • Work with Test Engineers to determine appropriate methods of product testing.
  • Will drive a cargo van and truck with lift-gates.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks on time.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience with electronic measuring devices

Preferably with 5 years of relevant experience on

high degree of electro-mechanical skills and strong analytic ability; experience with mechanical hand tools.

Ability to monitor machine indicators in order to ensure safe and appropriate operations.

Logical-thinking skills - inspect designs for quality control, troubleshoot test set-ups, and assist in failure resolution

Ability to read complex diagrams and instructions and follow a logical sequence or a specific set of rules

Some heavy lifting is required

Quality Focus, Judgment, Decision-Making skills

Good communication and presentation skills

Familiar with 115 Volt AC and 3-phase 208 Volt AC power systems is a plus
