RSI EnTech is currently recruiting Project Controls Specialists with cost and schedule experience for our client throughout the Tennessee Valley area including Chattanooga, TN. These positions require experience in the use of Primavera P6 and earned value management systems preferably on major engineering/design and/or construction projects. The positions may require the successful candidate to work on-site or they may be a hybrid of on-site and telework.
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in project scoping, planning, scheduling and cost management; earned value management; change control; problem identification and resolution support. The Project Controls Specialist requires good communications skills that exude a positive, customer-oriented attitude.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and monitor project cost performance.
Develop monthly project budget and analyze cost for risk and opportunities
Periodically review the project status by analyzing actual progress and cost as compared to the project plan.
Accrual preparation and analysis
Prepare status reports and provide detailed analysis on project status through the use of earned value management techniques and tools.
Conduct change control in accordance with established procedures
Prepare work orders as needed for project team.
Assist with project creation, funding requests and project closeout processes.
Plan, schedule, and monitor schedule performance
Coordinate with various customer and stakeholder organizations on the status of work being performed and process change requests when changes impact project completion dates or budget
Prepare summary and detail level reports which are the fundamental monitoring tool to identify progress and problems with projects.
Document project progress and changes, forecast project cost and schedule impacts, and communicate progress updates and projections to team members.
Interface with other members of the project team including engineering, construction, procurement, operations and senior management.
Travel to project sites to support management reviews, as needed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Education –Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or financial/business field, or related field desired plus several years of progressively more responsible project control experience. Detailed knowledge of project control practices, methods, procedures. PMP Certification by the Project Management Institute or AACE certification is desired.
Experience – Demonstrated application of project control concepts, processes, methodology, and techniques. Demonstrated experience in cost engineering practices such as performance analysis, business planning, budgeting, economic analysis, cost control, forecasting, etc. with ability to query company financial accounting system for detailed cost analysis. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management including executive management. Demonstrated ability to schedule work activities in Primavera, P6. Demonstrated ability to use PC based software (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point). Working knowledge of business planning processes and supporting budgetary, financial & workforce planning processes. Demonstrated ability in problem solving and analysis. Working knowledge of resource, cost and schedule integration. Familiarity with the concept of how risk management tools work and are used and applied on a project.
