AON Data & Analytics Business Partner in Chelmsford, United Kingdom

Data & Analytics Business Partner

Are you a data enthusiast with an interest in turning insights into actionable business strategies?

Are you keen to work with senior partners as part of a lively team, using your hands on skills to build solutions to help clients and colleagues make better decisions?

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow and develop in a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London or Chelmsford office?

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

The role is inherently dynamic, offering new challenges and opportunities daily, so no two days are the same, but the sorts of things you would be doing are:

  • Attend a daily stand-up meeting with the Data & Analytics team to discuss ongoing projects, priorities, and any roadblocks.

  • Meet with a business unit leader to discuss upcoming initiatives and capture requirements for new data analysis projects.

  • Dive into some data analysis using SQL and Power BI to investigate a recent trend in our data.

  • Design and build data & analytics solution, thinking about the data ingestion, refinement and visualisation needed.

  • Plan and lead a Data Council meeting to agree priorities and communicate progress to partners.

    How this opportunity is different

This is an outstanding opportunity to build and influence the analytics landscape across Aon UK, using innovative technology. The mix of strategic planning, hands-on data analysis, stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration encapsulates the dynamic and impactful nature of the Data & Analytics Business Partner role. You’ll be able to directly influence business decisions by translating complex data into actionable strategies, impacting Aon’s direction and success. You’ll play a key role in driving a data-driven culture within the organisation, transforming how the company brings to bear data for decision-making.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Ability to work in a team environment and to form strong relationships with stakeholders of all levels, whether in person or virtually.

  • Solid understanding of SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and the software development lifecycle.

  • Ability to help prioritise, plan and project manage deliveries, and to resolve issues or conflict with senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations.

  • Experience working in a similar role with a focus on business partnering or consulting.

    How we support our colleagues

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions, but we also recognise that flexibility goes beyond just the place of work... and we are all for it. We call this Smart Working!

Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued.

Aon values an innovative, diverse workplace where all colleagues feel empowered to be their authentic selves. Aon is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.

Aon provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran, marital, domestic partner status, or other legally protected status.

We welcome applications from all and provide individuals with disabilities with reasonable adjustments to participate in the job application, interview process and to perform essential job functions once onboard.
