Job Summary: The office of Enrollment Services at Eastern Washington University invites applications for Two Running Start (RS) Advisors to support EWU's RS programs. The Running Start Program at EWU supports and encourages student persistence, high school degree completion and the successful transition of high school students into a full-time university environment. The Running Start Advisor will assist Running Start participants with creating academic plans that lead to high school graduation, while also meeting requirements for an EWU bachelor's degree The Running Start Advisor will build and sustain ongoing educational relationships through proactive communications with RS program participants. A successful candidate for Running Start Advisor will have experience working with programs focused on developing grit, growth, mindset, mental resilience or other persistence-based intervention, and will have experience working with traditional underserved, low-income, or first-generation student populations. The Running Start Advisor reports to the Assistant Director of Running Start and will consult regularly with teammates, university staff, and administration to maintain up-to-date awareness of university programs, information, technologies, and procedures; conduct group presentations; and assist in planning and maintaining the overall EWU Running Start program.
