Citigroup Director- Procurement and Third-Party Management (P&TPM) Operational Excellence in Chennai, India

Procurement and Third-Party Management (P&TPM) is responsible for procuring products and services for Citigroup and manages the risks associated with Citi’s third-party arrangements, across all business lines and locations. P&TPM defines and oversees the implementation of policies and standards that provide controls to assess third parties and outsourcing arrangements. The goal of P&TPM is to support Citi’s selection and management of third parties capable of providing products and services in a safe and sound manner and at a reasonable cost and to manage the risks associated with third parties.

Citi is currently seeking a P&TPM Operational Excellence Director who is passionate about driving meaningful changes and is ready to make an impact. The ideal candidate will have a background in operational excellence, change management, regulatory remediation and compliance audits and ability to lead and inspire a team. This selected candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, on time delivering of P&TPM remediation activities globally while proactively identifying improvements to de-risk P&TPM Operations. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Third-Party Management Operational Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy, working framework and execute on P&TPM comprehensive remediation plans to address compliance deficiencies identified by regulators and internal audits.

  • Develop cross-functional relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the plan.

  • Identify, analyze risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Provides regular updates and reports to senior management and at necessary governance forums regarding the progress of the remediation plan.

  • Develop and maintain best practices for regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to these practices.

  • Maintain knowledge of third-party risk management and their associated compliance requirements

  • Partner with P&TPM management and their organizations on third-party risk, remediation, and strategies to ensure robust operational risk management capability and effective management of third-party inventories including outsourcing.

  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities to de-risk P&TPM Operations

  • Manage a small team of individuals with similar capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in audit, risk and control, supervision, quality assurance / control and monitoring processes.

  • Extensive experience in risk and control (including regulatory) remediation activities.

  • Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Citigroup’s size.

  • Meaningful knowledge of the risk management framework, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.

  • Experience working horizontally across an organization and participating in enterprise-wide implementations of major policy and relevant risk programs.

  • Broad understanding of relevant Third-Party Risk Management regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions preferred.

  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the executive management level by providing proactive support and advice on a variety of risk matters.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills, and in particular ability to assess and contribute to the content of key risk and control reporting.

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change.

  • Strong ability to engage at the senior management level and demonstrated communication experience at different levels of organization.
