Citigroup Operations Support - Credit Maintenance Analyst - C10 in Chennai, India
The Credit Maintenance Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for capturing and recording data on credit exposures, obligors and facilities in relevant credit systems in coordination with the Operations - Services team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate and maintain data quality in credit systems, monitor and report credit exposure, escalate deficiencies and recommend delinquent strategies in alignment with overall credit policies.
Responsibilities:
Review incoming credit requests for completeness and accuracy, and convert to concise, accurately recorded credit facilities
Prepare Credit Approvals & track progress during approval process, and ensure approvals are received in compliance with policy/recorded in database accurately
Maintain accurate records and controls to ensure timely follow-up
Monitor end-of-day exposure versus limits while escalating detected exceptions per policy and obtaining facilities to address recurring exceptions
Prepare portfolio and related credit information for internal and external auditors as well as contribute to achieving acceptable audit ratings
Interpret data, make recommendations, identify policy gaps, and assist in formulating policies
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Good understanding of applicable regulations and compliance with same.
Check for document completeness and spot inconsistencies.
Calculate income for credit assessment in accordance with policies/procedures
Ensure day to day operations are performed and SLAs are met as agreed with business
Timely and accurate processing and customer resolution
Timely escalation on incomplete/delayed processing
Sound credit judgment, in ensuring that apps are approved within the credit/regulatory guidelines.
Detailed examination of documents (income, id) & applicant profiling to prevent fraud
Focus on turnaround time & processing accuracy
High level of service to internal & external customers
Qualifications:
2-5 years of relevant experience
Experience in similar position or area
7-8 years’ experience in underwriting / other operations, preferably Credit Card underwriting.
Should have good comprehension skills & attention to details
Should have good communication skills
Should be able to make sound decisions based on information on hand
Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Windows domain
Demonstrate strengths across Risk/Controls and Client Excellence
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
