Testing Engineer, Water Utility, Chennai, India

What is the job about?

This position Sr Product Development Technician (Testing Engineer) is based out of Chennai, India and part of Product Development Water Utility Controls Team. The WU PD Controls Team takes care of Product development with detailed design, technology, and product platform support. As a test engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing the product features, designing test parameters, creating customized quality checks, and writing up final test procedures & Testing the PCB assembly. To ensure success as a test engineer , you should have knowledge of engineering and product design, good eyes for detail.

Key Accountability

  • Build, validate and verify or document new and existing products.

  • Receive task/issue from product development engineers and solve it in dialogue and according to own knowledge/best practice.

  • Document results and provide advice to solutions.

  • Board brings up experience.

  • Experienced with troubleshooting electronics.

  • Electronic circuit debugging

  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting functions with the assistance of information in the form of written or diagrams/specifications.

  • Hands-on experience with PCB assembly. Experience in soldering/rework and be able to rework on development board down to 0402 & QFN package size components.

  • Preparation, testing, repair and rework of electronics and electrical assemblies for prototyping and new product development in line with industrial standards

  • Create & Document test plans, test cases, test reports etc

  • Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.

  • Board level test, Product Level testing and System Level testing as per test cases, relevant standards etc.

  • Discover bugs within software and work closely with Product Development engineers in getting them resolved.

  • Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing.

  • Perform manual and automated testing.

  • Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes.

  • Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality.

  • Carry out Inspection and testing of electronic sub-assemblies in accordance with test procedures and the Company standards.

Your background :

We imagine that you have:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Tools, understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

  • Testing experience of 2-5 years

  • Proficient English – verbal and written.

  • Familiarity with testing tools including Apache, Selenium, JMeter, TestStand, and LabVIEW.

  • Knowledge of engineering and testing procedures.
