Responsibilities of Motor Grader Service Engineer

  • Developing suitable procedures and documents to ensure product quality and while evaluating customer feedback and experiences to identify functional deficiencies.

  • Evaluating processes to identify defects in manufacturing and design.

  • Provide input to designs modifications to maximize production efficiency and product quality.

  • Soliciting and gathering internal and external feedback to identify potential improvements that improve product serviceability and performance.

  • Communicating technical specifications to engineering and dealerships to ensure product quality and performance.

  • Tracking and managing the status of product issues.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely machine performance issues with the factory, dealerships and engineering.

  • Travel to dealer and customer locations to assist with troubleshooting, failure analysis, and information gathering

  • Assess dealer capabilities and recommend improvements

  • Gather product support needs from dealerships and customers

  • Provide technical guidance on the product repair, rebuild and maintenance process

  • Assist dealers and internal partners in technical exchanges with customers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or at least 4-5 years of equivalent work experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction machinery product support.

  • Strong initiative and troubleshooting skills

  • Solid mechanical and analytical skills.

  • Strong relationship building, collaboration and communication skills.

  • Domestic and international travel willingness.

Translate customer needs to technical engineering requirements.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

  • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with customers, dealers, and peers.
