Job Title: Crane Operator
Job Description
Operate friction, cable, and hydraulic cranes to discharge cargo from vessels to shore.
Maintain and repair the cranes as trained and instructed.
Safely and efficiently operate cranes and related gear to transfer cargo from vessel to shore.
Coordinate effectively with vessel personnel, complete required documents and reports related to cargo transfer.
Participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cranes, gear, and related equipment.
May be assigned general duties in all areas of terminal operations.
Engage in refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety, and environmental protocols as required.
Perform housekeeping and general maintenance as required.
Execute any other terminal functions as trained and instructed by the supervisor.
Required Skills
Operating friction, cable, and hydraulic cranes
Maintenance and repair of cranes
Troubleshooting equipment
Document and report completion
NCCCO is not required but would be a plus.
Pay: $30.00-$45.00
- Depending on experience and interview process.
Shift:
8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday
When vessel is in the port will switch to 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm until the vessel has been offloaded completely.
Candidate needs to be open to working days or nights while vessel is in the port, the standard schedule will be day shift.
Work Environment
Work will be done outdoors, including in rainy conditions.
Candidates must be comfortable with heights and accessing stairs.
