ARAMARK Patient Services Ambassador - Chesapeake General Hospital in Chesapeake, Virginia

Job Description

The Patient Services Ambassador serves as the department?s customer service representative. They are primarily responsible for successfully completing all assigned patient interviews and visits. They follow the mission, vision, and values of the organization, ensure patient confidentiality, identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families. They interact professionally with patients/family and maintain a good working relationship both within the food service department and with other departments. The liaise with the Patient Experience department as necessary.

Starting Pay $18/hr

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts new admission visits and ongoing patient rounding in all units.

  • Ensures that hostesses demonstrate hospitality and respect toward patients.

  • Supports client satisfaction at a level that ensures account retention by monitoring and responding to Press Ganey reporting.

  • Assists in customizing patient service programs to meet each account's unique needs as required.

  • Provides recognition for employees when programs are implemented with success.

  • Completes food service tasks as needed.

  • Resolves food service issues that do not meet standards and ensures food service tasks are followed up on and completed in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Maintains the privacy, safety, and dignity of each customer by observing client confidentiality and by rigorously adhering to safety and sanitation standards

  • Ensures timely response to guest/customer request for information or assistance, calls out any delays or other problems that are identified

  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers.

  • Adheres to the established policies addressing confidentiality of patient information.

  • Maintains compliance with ARAMARK?s standards of operation. Adheres to ARAMARK?s Business Conduct Policy at all times. Maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including the use of proper personal protective gear and following proper infection control measures.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1 year of customer/patient service experience.

  • Proficient in English; bilingual preferred (Burmese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish).

  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

  • Ability to stay calm in a less than calm circumstance.

  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
