The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) – Transition to Practice is responsible for guiding and mentoring nursing students, new graduate nurses, and experienced nurses to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide excellent care for our patients. The Transition to Practice CNE specializes in the clinical learning environment and assists with clinical education activities and improving professional practice. New employee orientation, nurse residency program, clinical placements for nursing students, and agency onboarding are all areas where the Transition to Practice CNE will support and help enhance the professional competency of nursing.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education : Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required within 2 years of hire : Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Education
Experience : Minimum 3+ years working in an acute care hospital with preceptor, charge nurse, and/or working in a leadership role. Nurse Educator experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have current BLS and ACLS.
