DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for providing supervisory oversight to facility maintenance and trades staff in the performance of routine and specialized maintenance, construction, and repair tasks for your assigned institution. You will be responsible for planning, assigning, directing, and coordinating daily operations. This includes determining staffing needs and priorities based on facility goals and objectives and preparing and submitting an annual department budget. You will have the opportunity to act as a tool control officer and duty officer, responding to emergencies after hours. This position requires you to maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of department and occupational safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours to be determined, Monday - Friday. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $52,306.00 (before taxes). This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
