Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Entomologist/Molecular Cell Biologist for a position in Bayer Crop Science to establish functional assays with different eukaryotic cell types. The project utilizing cell biology techniques will deepen the understanding of complexity of cell types, their biology and functions promoting trait development for the company. The candidate will help in establishing protocols and assays with eukaryotic cells using cutting edge technology and imaging systems. The successful applicant would also be able to receive training in basic wet lab skills to advanced molecular techniques. Education Requirements: Bachelors or Masters Degree

Qualifications and Competencies: Specialization in Entomology/Cell Biology/Molecular Biology Basic computer skills Ability to learn and apply new concepts and techniques Troubleshooting Work in diverse team environment Good communication skills Good record keeping Interest to read literature and learn Basic microscopy skills (optional)

Entomologist/Molecular Cell Biologist Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Design experiments, execute and troubleshoot for desired outcome Develop protocols and assays using eukaryotic cells Microdissection of tissues Culture and maintain different eukaryotic cell types Determine cell attributes using microscopy/FACS Study functional response through protein-protein interactions Proper documentation of experiments and maintain thorough records Ability to use small equipment following standard safety measures Insect rearing and handling**
