Department: Morrissey College Graduate School
Position: 00009674 - Staff Assistant
Grade: 1ST
Hiring Range: $21.48/hr to $26.84/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
The MCGS Staff Assistant is a member of the Graduate School of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences administrative team. The primary function of this position is to provide support the Graduate School office processes. Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the MCGS Staff Assistant is involved in all aspects of administrative support for applicants and currently enrolled students. This position is a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and applicants.
Responsibilities include:Supervision of undergraduate and graduate student workers with responsibility for, hiring, training and scheduling
Monitoring the MCGS Admissions Office email account, responding to inquiries and processing information requests
Communicating with newly admitted and existing students
Coordinating with departments around campus to support student on-boarding.
Requirements
One year of administrative experience, preferably in the University setting. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, solid computer skills and time management skills are essential. Applicants should possess a willingness to learn the Graduate School’s department degree offerings and admissions requirements.
Additional work may be required during the academic year, including occasional evening and weekend hours.
