We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Account Executive on our Marketing and Membership team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 1-3 days a week in the office.

As a Account Executive, you will generate opportunities and close sales for the AMA’s group practice memberships by identifying and building relationships with decision makers and influencing their perception of the value of AMA membership. Persuades senior leaders at new accounts of the advantages of member products and services and the AMA’s support of group practices. Work with the group membership team to identify existing and emergent needs of C-suite leadership and physicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build the pipeline of new group membership opportunities

  • Identify and pursue influential contacts at group practices through a consultative approach advocating the business value of membership

  • Build relationships and engage contacts to identify objections and ensure follow-up discussions lead to decisions regarding purchase of new membership agreements

  • Contact potential opportunities via email or phone to establish rapport and schedule both online and onsite meetings

  • Represent AMA at conferences, meetings and industry events that provide networking and relationship development opportunities

    Close new membership agreements aligned with value to the group practice and AMA membership policies

  • Develop and give presentations clearly articulating membership value aligned with practice needs

  • With PE management, execute save plans overcoming objections, closing sales, and enabling practice leaders to persuade their physicians of membership value

    Manage the sales cycle and contribute customer feedback to inform PE’s sales processes

  • Inform sales leaders of pipeline status and ensure all contacts and opportunities are properly tracked in the CRM

  • Support analysis of growth opportunities and postmortems of lost deals as requested

  • Offer ideas regarding new products and product enhancements to maximize future acquisition opportunities and customer satisfaction

    May include other responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required Bachelor's degree-a business related discipline preferred.

  • 5+ years specialized experience of business to business sales or business development experience, healthcare industry preferred

  • Able to articulate business value of products and services to C-level leaders at potential customers and identify and address common objections

  • Able to build relationships at all levels of a midsize corporation such as a healthcare corporation

  • Proven ability to identify new contacts in leadership, set meetings, and identify sales opportunities

  • Proven integrity when representing the organization to potential clients, accurately representing client needs to sales leadership and clearly articulating features and terms to client contacts

  • Up to 40% travel required
