Job Summary

As a part of the communications team within Chicago Booth\'s Office of Advancement, the Assistant Director, Content Communications, supports Advancement Communications\' mission to activate, motivate, and inspire the Department\'s core audiences (alumni, donors, volunteers) to engage with and invest in Booth. This position plays a key role in leadership communications by: 1) producing and editing correspondence on behalf of the chief advancement officer, and 2) supporting the Dean\'s communications, which includes the daily management of correspondence requests from Advancement colleagues, and the weekly editing of the dean\'s acknowledgments. The position also serves as the liaison to Chicago Booth Marketing and Communications for tactical inquiries related to alumni and donor stories. It supports event marketing content and collateral needs. This role also occasionally writes profiles and stories about alumni, donors, and volunteers. The Assistant Director closely collaborates with content and digital engagement team members, as well as with many partners from Advancement, Alumni Engagement, and Chicago Booth Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary content point for all Advancement-driven event marketing content needs except Reconnect, Chicago Booth\'s reunion program, and Management Conference; serves with those events in an occasional support role. This includes developing a broad range of messaging, content, and assets, and managing the production of invites and other electronic and print pieces, in partnership with designers and other external vendors.
  • Supports leadership correspondence for chief advancement officer and the dean.
  • Makes content updates across Booth Advancement website as needed.
  • Collaborates with Booth Marketing on content and coordination for Chicago Booth Magazine and other alumni/donor stories.
  • Practices a standard of communication that is uniform and consistent with the school\'s branding and priorities.
  • Orchestrates efficient and t orough processes to facilitate marketing and communications projects.
  • Partners with colleagues to strategically execute on Advancement\'s storytelling approach and ideation.
  • Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization\'s programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
  • Accomplishes assigned duties through two or more of the following: written communications; visual/graphic media, which may include Web site development and maintenance; speeches and personal contact. The incumbent is still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
