The University of Chicago\'s Department of Family Medicine seeks full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve as Program Director or Associate Director to lead our new UChicago Medicine Ingalls Family Medicine Residency Program.
Appointees will have a unique opportunity to be founding leaders of a new Family Medicine residency program to play a pivotal role in program planning and startup. Appointees will report to the department Chair to create the strategic direction of the program, foster an inclusive environment, and ensure its alignment with the University of Chicago\'s mission and values. Clinical responsibilities include seeing patients in our outpatient Family Medicine practice (Hyde Park or Harvey, IL), and/or inpatient at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Other duties will include the teaching and supervision of Family Medicine residents, coaching for competency and conducting competency evaluations of residents and faculty, and conducting scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is a 485-bed acute care hospital that serves as the flagship of UChicago\'s Community Health and Hospitals Division. Its inpatient medical/surgical, behavioral health, and labor/delivery/postpartum/newborn units are staffed by a combination of UChicago faculty, employed medical group physicians, federally qualified health center (FQHC) physicians, and affiliated private practitioners. Ambulatory care takes place in medical group, faculty, and FQHC practices. UChicago is excited to extend its outstanding Graduate Medical Education programming to Harvey, Illinois, and the surrounding communities.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board certified or eligible in Family Medicine.
