Synchrony AVP, IAM Program Manager in Chicago, Illinois
Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Program Manager will be responsible for supporting multiple high visibility, cross-functional projects, working with the Identity and Access Management organization, broader information technology and security teams to manage IAM strategic programs and regulatory findings. This exciting role requires critical thinking skills, building key relationships, collaboration, and facilitation skills to drive transformation of Identity and Access Management.

Essential Responsibilities:
Support critical IAM programs; coordinate cross-functionally with IAM teams, Information Security teams and business IT stakeholders to manage the successful delivery of IAM projects
Deliver on suitable short-term and long-term strategic objectives
Drive and deliver program issues / risks and resolution, decision logs, communication plans and other program documentation to ensure project goals are achieved and audit traceability is in place
Engage regularly with key stakeholders on issues/risk and decisions and gather feedback on implementation of solutions impacting the organization
Establish and support program metrics and evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement as well as timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
Prepare and present reports for program sponsors and leadership
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; technology or equivalent related field preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience in Information Technology
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large scale, cross functional project
Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology, with a focus on information security in one or more of the following areas: IAM, security operations, security architecture, policy/governance
Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting auditors, audit inquiries and ad-hoc reporting
Solid management skills
Experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis
Strong problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communication (presentation) skills
Program Management Certified (PMP) preferred
Desired Characteristics:
Experience with financial industry regulatory requirements, audit and risk management
Demonstrated Identity and Access Management project leadership
Experience with IAM technologies such as SailPoint or comparable IAM technologies
Demonstrated ability to manage large projects
Demonstrated project leadership, facilitation, and customer service experience
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and can-do attitude with the flexibility to change directions quickly
Superior written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead others through change
Strong analytical and clear-thinking skills
Understanding of financial security and regulatory standards, including, but not limited to SOX IT-404, PCI, NIST, FFIEC
Ability to take input from multiple stakeholders, complex business and technical requirements, quickly determine the appropriate security solution and then drive the outcome
Industry-recognized security certification such as CISSP, CISM or CISA
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
