Job Description:
Oversees and ensures complete, accurate, and timely execution of all accounting functions. Maintains accurate accounting for balance sheet and income statements.
Essential Job Duties and Anticipated Outcomes:
Responsible for accurate posting of accounts receivable including monthly closing of CRM and accounting systems.
Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of all revenue, expense, asset, and liability data in the accounting general ledger (GL) system MIP/Abila.
Uses accounting and (CRM) software extensively to record accounting transactions and generate standard and ad hoc financial reports needed by management and staff, and for performance of other duties.
Has knowledge of NFP Revenue Recognition guidelines. Interprets grants as received for Restrictions, accurately posts and communicates to Grants and Membership teams.
Audits accounting system MIP/Abila revenue against (CRM) software monthly to ensure accuracy between both systems.
Processes payroll and benefits distribution.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and prepare necessary adjusting entries monthly.
Prepares accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.
Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
Prepares and Distributes Cash Status Reports. Is the first line of defense for any cash flow issues arising.
Requirements
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.
5-7 years’ experience in not-for-profit accounting. CPA, and Fiscal Sponsorship program knowledge & experience preferred.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting information system products (Abila/MIP, QuickBooks, Bill.com). Data entry, spreadsheet, and database user experience.
Experience with CRM (Salesforce) management and administration.
