Job Summary

Four Corners is seeking a bi-lingual Part-Time HR/Payroll Intern to join our team! The HR/Payroll Resources Intern will provide general support for HR initiatives and assist with payroll functions under the direct supervision of the HR & Payroll Manager and HR & Payroll Generalist.

Responsibilities: 

Human Resources

  • Monitor and track Paid Time Off leave policies for hourly and salary employees

  • Respond to all employment verification requests

  • Respond to unemployment benefit questionnaires

  • Enter and process personnel changes in Paylocity including but not limited to new hires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, address updates, etc.

  • Respond to all HR inbox (email & VM) inquiries and questions from employees in a professional and timely manner

  • Contact designated location contact(s) to obtain missing information and/or resolve identified questions

  • Assist and process new hires via Paylocity's electronic onboarding portal and ensure all documents are kept up to date and remain compliant

  • Process pending changes submitted by employees through Paylocity (demographic info, emergency contact updates, tax updates)

  • Maintain Employee data in Paylocity, ensure it is accurate, workflow actions are completed where required, resolve system issues as necessary, and drive employees to use the system to its maximum potential

  • Assist with file maintenance including retention and purging of employee files (personnel, medical, garnishment, I-9s)

  • Assist with ACA compliance including Paylocity maintenance, full-time equivalent communication, and enrollment

  • Support recruiting efforts as needed (i.e. updating job postings on ATS, reposting jobs on additional recruitment platforms, following up with locations to understand staffing needs, managing ATS to send out acknowledgment/declination emails to candidates)

  • Track both guest and employee incidents to identify frequent problem areas

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements

     

Payroll

  • Accurately assist and process payroll for 900+ employees

  • Receive, review and process payroll input source documents including but not limited to tax withholding election forms, garnishment & child support withholding orders, and direct deposit requests

  • Prepare payroll process reports out of timekeeping system and import time files into Paylocity

  • Work with appropriate managers to resolve payroll follow-ups, issues, correct discrepancies in pay and related payroll systems/records

  • Run active roster reports and distribute to location management teams

  • Submit monthly Department of Labor (DOL) reporting for applicable locations

Miscellaneous

  • Support with data integrity audits and special projects

  • Assist with accounts payable or other accounting related duties as time allows

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to be Part-Time, 24-32 hours a week

  • The schedule is 3-4 days per week, based on business needs. Candidate must be able to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

  • Must be bilingual (English / Spanish), with Strong communication and interpersonal skills in in both languages (verbal, written and listening)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an undergraduate program in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources

  • Professional payroll processing experience a strong plus (Paylocity experience preferred)

  • Experience with MS Office  & Google Suite applications (proficient in Excel)

  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment labor laws and regulations

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and strict confidentiality

  • Highly detail-oriented with effective time management skills

  • Self-directed with the ability to identify when to escalate questions/issues to supervisors

  • Strong organizational skills

  • $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour
