Position: Maintenance Mechanic
Reports to: Department Supervisor
Position Statues: Non-Exemp
Position Summary : Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of routine and skilled tasks involving general maintenance of facilities equipment and grounds. They diagnose, repair, recondition and replace the necessary parts to keep the facility and production equipment running.
Duties and Responsibilities
Abides OSHA and FSC rules and regulations for safety.
Wear typical protection gear in an environment that contain dust, odors and noise.
Work well under pressure.
Knowledge of and ability to use electrical meters and read electrical schematics
Troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment as well as all plant electrical and mechanical systems including AC/DC motors, distribution systems, HVAC systems, VFD Drives, pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, and air compressors.
Ability to work with 480 volts
Ability to read mechanical prints
Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility supporting equipment.
Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted.
Request parts, maintain, and organizes spare parts area.
Work with hand tools and power tools
Basic computer skills
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands
Required to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects of 50 pounds or more.
Must be able to cover other shifts/overtime as necessary.
Must be able to work at height, climb ladders, scissor lift, boom lift etc.
Must be able to bend and squat frequently.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more daily.
Required Knowledge and/or Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
2 years minimum relevant technical experience, degree or certifications; Or combination of education and experience.
Experience working with 3-phase 480V, reading electrical schematics, and troubleshooting DC-motors.
Welding, HVAC, plumbing, and residential electrical experience a plus
Ability to read English.
Must have strong math and measurement skills.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
