Aerotek Maintenance Mechanic in Chicago, Illinois

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance on all machinery within the plant. Responsibilities include repairing and troubleshooting heavy equipment, conveyors, shredder, compactor, utilizing volt meters for electrical troubleshooting, performing MIG and STICK welding when needed, and working on hydraulic and pneumatic machinery. The majority of the machinery is 240V, but the shredder operates at 480V, so candidates must be comfortable with that. Additional duties include utilizing blueprints and schematics, changing out motors on machinery, and general facility maintenance when needed.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years of maintenance mechanic experience

  • Basic electrical knowledge

  • MIG and STICK welding

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic machinery maintenance

  • Volt meter usage

  • Blueprint and schematic reading

Work Environment

Candidates will be working both inside and outside. Overall, it is a very heavy industrial environment.
