ViacomCBS Per Diem Technical Operations Center (TOC) Operator in Chicago, Illinois
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
CBS 2 Chicago is in search of a multi-skilled live production team member to staff our Technical Operations Center (TOC). Candidate is interested and attracted to all things technical while having a solid understanding and appreciation for live news production. Our TOC Operators work closely with field teams and control room staff to set up live shots, record and ingest live feeds, maintain quality control of all video assets. Works closely with our assignment desk and producers to capture and organize video assets.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience with all aspects of ENG news coverage, including, Edius non-linear editing, ENG microwave and satellite receive. Edit news stories under deadline pressure, while maintaining editorial integrity.
Troll & NSI systems for tracking and tuning in ENG Helicopter
Experience with LiveU and Dejero bonded cellular systems
Ensure that all daily show production deadlines are met
Consistently contribute to editorial process in team environment and attention to production strategy.
Work closely with affiliate news services and broadcast partners
Experience as an ENG photographer and editor a plus to take advantage of multi-platform opportunities.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Five years experience in TOC and/or as a photographer and editor.
Bachelors degree in journalism or broadcast field.
Familiarity with Chicago area, desirable
Strong non-linear editing background, including Edius
Valid Illinois drivers license
Strong computer skills
