UL, LLC Receptionist in Chicago, Illinois
This role is on-site (5) days a week at our downtown Chicago office. Conveniently located near Ogilvy, Union Station and the el. Hours can be 7:00 am-3:30 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m.
Greet and direct clients, applicants, vendors, employees and visitors entering the reception area.
Ensure all visitors are verified and entered into the I-Visitor system.
Issue and retrieve temporary visitors badges as necessary.
Receive and answer all incoming telephone calls, appropriately directing calls and inquiries when needed. Ensures the correct functioning of conference center.
Conduct daily walkthrough to ensure space is ready for use, AV equipment and furniture are in proper location and in good working order, lights are working, and area is clean.
Respond to all requests from conference center users requiring porter, catering and AV equipment support.
Problem solve to assist and when necessary, contact catering or utilize appropriate facilities and IT departments.
Oversee self-service conference rooms managed through internal reservation system.
Audit reservations to confirm all required information is present.
Resolve conflicts if situations arise when conference rooms are double-booked.
Provide oversight to coffee bar and pantry.
Organize taxi and chauffer bookings when requested. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Performs other duties as directed.
Higher Secondary Education (High School Diploma) and generally one year of customer service or receptionist experience.
Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to customer needs.
Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
