Key Responsibilities:

This Senior Manager of Engine Maintenance Planning and Analytics leads a team of analysts and engine asset managers in planning United’s engine maintenance requirements and forecasting associated resource demands. Additionally, this role leads analysis of supplier and internal maintenance processes as well as the development of data tools for engine maintenance management. This role has extensive cross-functional visibility, including with engine supplier management, inventory planning, global procurement, finance, engineering. This role is responsible to develop, oversee and present analysis and plans to internal and supplier executives. Up to 25% travel is required.

  • Lead engine maintenance requirements planning, including engine removal forecasting, engine spare production forecasting, and engine shop visit induction forecasting

  • Lead forecasting of resource demands to support engine maintenance, including material requirements

  • Lead analysis of supplier and internal maintenance processes, including supplier turn time, EBU performance, and United engine shop performance

  • Lead the development of data tools required to support engine maintenance management, such as the Engine Planning System (EPS), engine query tool, and maintenance billing review tools

  • Manage direct reports and all personnel issues. Mentor and professionally develop team.

  • Effectively communicate reporting to internal and external stakeholders

  • Continuously improve planning and analysis methods, using feedback from internal and external collaborators

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Science, Mathematics, Finance or 4 years of relevant work experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in aircraft or engine maintenance, supply chain management, procurement, or contract management

  • Strong organizational and continuous improvement skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead an experienced team

  • Familiarity with database systems

  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical information

  • Ability to review data, formulate a model, draw conclusions, and use this data-based analysis to inform/convince/persuade others

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Strong business insight

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Master of Science degree or MBA

  • Experience forecasting engine maintenance events

  • Experience forecasting material requirements for maintenance

  • Experience administrating engine maintenance agreements

  • Experience administering cost-per-hour agreements

  • Experience leading teams through indirect influence

  • Experience directly leading others

  • Process improvement experience

  • Knowledge of jet engine maintenance including overhaul events

  • Detailed understanding of jet engine components

  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex contracts

  • Proficiency in Palantir
