*Summary *

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing, this position will work closely with firm lawyers and other marketing team members to support select marketing and business development activities for DLA Piper's practice, sector and office initiatives in the US and Latin America. The position requires a self-starter, with accomplished critical thinking skills, who can partner with other marketing, business development, administrative and executive team members to achieve business objectives.

Location

This position can be remote. Candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed.  

Responsibilities

  • This role will work closely with our Marketing Manager team on strategic client growth projects, pitches/RFPs, content development, experience tracking, directory submissions and other research related to demonstrating our expertise to clients. The role will support select practices and sectors across the United States (i.e. Energy) and Latin America, and will be called upon to assist with other projects as needed.

  • This role will also support select geographies (i.e. Boston) as a “Point of Contact”.

  • Working with our Senior Marketing Manager, Latin America/Energy, supports pitching, RFPs, directory submissions, events/sponsorships, collateral development, experience lists, and overall client development efforts in the Latin America region.

  • Provides similar support mentioned above for efforts in our Energy sector.

  • Serves as the Marketing Point of Contact for our Boston office.

  • Assists with key client growth initiatives such as Key Clients, Client Feedback and Intersections.

  • Conducts and coordinates research (with firm research/library teams) on clients, filings, trends, law firm competitors to help position practice/sector group in pitches and proposals and demonstrateexpertise in the marketplace.

  • Assists in compiling presentations, key metrics and reports to leadership.

  • Works with other Directors and Marketing Managers on other key practice/sector group projects as requested/appropriate.

  • Actively participates in lawyer meetings as requested/appropriate.

  • Utilizes the Marketing Resource System (MRS) to track all workflow; InterAction for CRM and Experience Hub for experience reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

Ideal candidate will be a high-energy, savvy marketing professional, with strong writing and presentation skills, and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills critical, with a keen attention to detail. Communication and data analysis skills, client service orientation, project management, and the ability to generate immediate credibility with firm lawyers are also essential. DLA Piper’s Marketing team is highly collaborative and quickly re-prioritizes as demands and deadlines change. Our ideal candidate must work well in this team environment where most interaction is "virtual". Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Minimum Education

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field. 

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in marketing and/or business development in a professional services environment.

  • Previous law firm experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

  • Hybrid - Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home

The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington, D.C., or Seattle is $36.76 - $53.30 per hour. The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $38.43 - $55.73 per hour. The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in Palo Alto or San Francisco is $40.10 - $58.15 per hour. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
